Ms. Rita Edwards was born on November 15,1956 in Philadelphia PA. She was the daughter Johnnie Mae Hayman and Charles Hayman. She left her earthly home on Monday, March 25, 2024 at Rock Rest Nursing and Rehabilitation in Monroe NC. Rita is preceded in death by her three siblings Marion, Johnny and Mildred.

She leaves to cherish her memories five children; Samuel Edwards and Jennifer Edwards, Philadelphia, Pa; Maurice Dorsey, Wilmington, NC; Jacqueline Dorsey Winston Salem, NC; Joyce Rush, Wadesboro, NC.

Grandchildren: Branden Jorden, Kristian Little, Da'Nashia Burris, Keyonda Horne, Tamarie Horne, Azariyah Horne.

One Great-granddaughter: Ka'Nylah Burris.

Siblings; Floree, Robert, Millicent and Charlene. Two sister in-laws; Patricia and Charlene.

The family is receiving family/friends at the home of her daughter Joyce Rush at 1308 Center St, Wadesboro NC 28170.

Contributions/Floral Arrangements can be sent to the funeral home.

Services to honor Ms. Edwards will be held privately.
