Mark Lorenzo Alexander Nelson "Stuff"

Mr. Mark Lorenzo Alexander Nelson aka “Stuff” was born April 28, 1989 in Monroe, North Carolina to Mrs. Lisa Gillespie Perry and the late Mr. Mark Nelson. He departed this life on Saturday, May 6, 2023 at Atrium Health Union in Monroe, North Carolina.

He attended Forest Hills High School and SPCC with a certificate in Graphic Design.

He leaves to cherish his memories: Mother Lisa Gillespie Perry & Stepfather Arthur Perry of Concord, North Carolina; Grandmother Eliza Gillespie of Wingate, North Carolina who loved and cared for him also throughout his life; 3 siblings who loved him dearly. Ms. Monique Nelson of Wingate North Carolina, Brittany Clyburn Perry and Danny Clyburn Perry both of Concord, North Carolina; Sister-in-Law Latrese Wood of Concord, North Carolina; he also leaves one niece behind Mia Bailey of Wingate, North Carolina. The family also wants to recognize and give thanks to; His Aunts Sheila Nelson-Knotts (Chavis) of Monroe, NC; Myra Nelson of Monroe, NC; Ruth Blakeney of Wingate, NC; His Uncles Francis Gillespie (Betty); Bleand Gillespie of Monroe NC; Marty Nelson & Michael Nelson of Monroe, NC. 

The family also wants to recognize his late Grandparents: Mr. Zeb Gillespie; Mr. Thomas Nelson and Odessa Sutton Nelson; Ms. Curlie Robinson who played a big part in his life.

A very special thanks goes out to all his cousins and friends that were more like brothers to him, who loved him more than words could say. “Stuff” you will be missed so much and it’s so hard to say good-bye.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, May 12, 2023 at 11am at Mount Moriah Missionary Baptist Church, 5003 Gulledge School Rd, Marshville NC 28103.  Interment will follow at the Mount Moriah Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery.

A Public viewing will be on Thursday, May 11, 2023 from 2:00pm - 6:00pm at Union Funeral & Cremation Service Chapel.
