On Friday, December 2, 2022, Mr. Major Oxner, 66 departed this life at Atrium Health Anson.
Born February 26, 1956 in Union County, North Carolina, to his parents, the late Troy and Katie Winchester Richardson. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in passing by his Step-Father John Oxner and a brother Johnny Mack Oxner.
Major Oxner attended Union County Public Schools. He worked as a Brick Mason most of his life. He was a loving Father and Grandfather. He enjoyed dancing and playing cards. He was also a traveler.
Left to cherish his memory, five sons; Marcus McGill of Monroe NC, Darrius Barrett of Monroe NC, Rojshawn Barrett (Laqita) of Wadesboro, NC, Major S. Oxner (Santana) of Rock Hill, SC and Franklin Oxner of Monroe NC, Seventeen Grandchildren; Samiya, Mo'net, Tadarrius, DaMarcus, Dmarea, Allyiah, Domonni, Niyasia, Zy'rihanna, Nizione, Ivyanna, Jaleel, Desmond, Zemariah, Levi, Massiah and Ny'Asia. Eleven Great Grandchildren. Six siblings; Willette Oxner, Sandra Hailey, Phillip Oxner (Linda), Paul Oxner, Latricia Cunningham (Sam) and Vera Marsh, all of Monroe NC. A long time friend Elaine Barrett. A Host of nieces and nephews.
