Ms. Frances Jeannette Miller

Ms. Frances Jeannette Miller completed her earthly life Friday, July 28, 2023 at her home.  She was born October 2, 1953. She was the daughter of the late Robert Dexter Miller and the late Isabelle Banner Miller and a native of Union County, NC.

She graduated high school from Monroe High School and went on to continue her education at North Carolina Central University where she graduated Cum Laude.  Jeannette was a Business Administration major and was a member of the Alpha Kappa Alpha sorority.  She was a current member of the NAACP.

Jeannette's work history included several different career paths over the years.  She worked as a dispatcher for Monroe Police Department and for the United States Census Bureau of Charlotte and for Duke University as an Administrative Assistant.  She also was employed by Mechanics and Farmers Bank in Charlotte for a number of years until her health started to decline.  She was a long-time member of Mt. Calvary A.M.E. Zion Church.

In addition to her father and mother, she is preceded in death by her sister Annie Bell Miller Ashburg.  She is survived by her brother, Robert L Miller of Shelby and his sons, Dexter Miller of Greensboro and Chris Miller (Claudia) of Greensboro, NC; Brother-in-law, Calvin Ashburg of Stone Mountain, GA and sons Michael Ashburg (Teena) of Macon GA and Michon Ashburg (Curtique) of Stone Mountain, Ga and five grand nephews and nieces and many other relatives and friends.

Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, August 10, 2023 at 2:00pm located at Mt. Calvary A.M.E. Zion Church, 800 Lasalle St, Monroe NC 28110.  Visitation will be held from 1:30pm to 2:00pm prior to the service. 

A private burial will be held at Lakeland Memorial Park.
